Vent: Why Dan being Gossip Girl is silly (NOTE: This post WILL 100% contain spoilers)
Okay so unless you live in a cave (or were just never really that into gossip girl) you would've heard that bloody Daniel- freaking- Humphrey was crowned the gossip queen of our beloved Upper East Side. There are so many problems with this, it's just not even funny.
In my perspective it's kind of like the writers got super lazy towards the end and were like, "Dude, I just wanna go home. Make it that dickhead Dan."
This show, as it is, is so flawed, for example, the fact that Dan so easily fell in love with Blair even though she had BANISHED his sister from the city. I mean come on really. It's the Humphrey's. They're like family > bullshit. Or the fact that Nate Archibald could so easily become the editor in chief of a newspaper even without graduating from college.
You're probably thinking, "Yeah, come on man, this show has next to no realism in it." Yeah, okay, that's fine but Dan being Gossip Girl REALLY?! Let's just take a moment to go through JUST A FEW of the reasons why this conclusion makes no real sense at all.

In season 4, when Blair and Dan are looking for Juliet and as such need an address, Dan asks Gossip Girl for help. But wait. He's Gossip Girl. Okay, buddy.

What about when Dan cheats on Blair, with Serena, and Gossip Girl posts the scandalous video. But, wait, he's Gossip Girl.

What about all the nasty posts about Little J. His little sister, whom he happens to love and care about and who also knew he was Gossip Girl. She went cray, but yet did not reveal his identity. Okay then.

Doesn't anyone else find it incredibly creepy that this random dude spent like 6 years of his life slut-shaming and critiquing high school girls. Get a life, weirdo.

How we always loved Dan and Serena because they were from two different worlds. But wait, Dan spent his life writing rude things about all her friends.
I could literally keep going on why I was so not happy with Dan being gossip girl. But it is, what it is and is still one of my most loved tv series.
